How We Run Our Services
Services are held in members’ homes, mainly in Staffordshire, but we do visit other member's homes as well and we aim to create a welcoming atmosphere. Our Service Leader guides the prayers and rituals, ensuring inclusivity and respect for all participants. Everyone is encouraged to participate in ways that feel comfortable, whether by leading a prayer, sharing a thought, or simply listening. We use a specially designed service book, written by our service leader, which focuses on an inclusive and interactive service, often stopping to discuss points before moving on. We also use English for the majority of our services including the Torah reading so that language is not a barrier to our members.
Services generally start at 11:00am and members tend to arrive around 10:30am for a cup of tea and a catch up. After the service a light lunch is served before members head home.
We use a specially designed service booklet for Shabbat and festivals. These booklets have been designed to be accessible for all with the English, Hebrew and transliterations.
Our services run for about an hour on average but this can change depending on the week.
You are welcome to use our service booklet in your own home worship or to familiarise yourself with it before attending a service with us.
There is no obligation to read any part of the service outside of the responses and prayers, however if you wish to read something you can decide to do so on the day.
